No Experience Required
Your career in dog training begins with a 23-day intensive training program held at our head office in Squamish, BC. Your success and Bark Busters’ reputation depends on the quality of your training, so we place great importance in ensuring your skills meet our high standards. You will also practice the selling and presentation skills necessary to run a profitable business. We will go over the business administration systems with you. We have developed a successful business model for you to follow so you don’t have to learn the hard way.
On an ongoing basis, head office and other franchisees are only a phone call away to answer questions and share knowledge. We have yearly training updates and annual national conferences where all the franchisees in Canada get together, share information, have fun, and learn new skills.

Bark Busters was founded in 1989 by renowned behaviour therapists Sylvia and Danny Wilson in Wollongong, Australia.
They set out to save as many dogs as possible from being surrendered to shelters or being euthanized because of seemingly incurable behaviour problems.
From humble beginnings, Bark Busters grew to over 250 franchise owners in 7 countries.
Our Bark Busters team has helped over one million dogs overcome behaviour problems and live better lives.
Bark Busters launched in Canada in November 2003, and today we are the only truly national dog training company.
We currently have 20 dedicated franchise team members and have filled 75% of the available territories, but there are still some great opportunities remaining for the right people.
Jeff and Barb Cooke are the Master franchisors for Bark Busters Canada. With 20 years experience, they are two of the most experienced and successful trainers in Bark Busters worldwide. Jeff is the President. In addition to his dog training credentials, Jeff has his MBA and 10 years experience as a marketing manager with large multi-national corporations.
Barb, our Director of Training, is one of the best dog trainers in the country. She trains all new Canadian and American franchise owners and is always working on supporting all our Bark Busters knowledge and skill enhancement. Her excellent communication skills, insatiable love of animals, and experience training the toughest of dogs, make her a great therapist, a great teacher, and a great person to have on your team.

Investing in a Bark Busters franchise ranges from $44,000 to $70,000.
The breakdown of the costs are as follows:
The Franchise Fee for an exclusive territory ranges from $24,000 to $33,000 depending on the territory. In addition, there is a $15,000 Training and Pre-paid Expenses fee. This covers the cost of your training (excluding travel and living expenses). In most cases, you will also need to budget between $5000 and $12,000 in additional start-up expenses (car signage, office set up, uniforms etc.). Ongoing, Royalties are 11% of gross sales. There is also a 2% National Marketing fund contribution.
There are many organisations that train trainers, but not many can make there training a viable source of income.
